We have once again teamed up with Abbotsbury Swannery, and this year marks the final season of the collaboration.
This year’s 2026 trail is a brand new interactive adventure inspired by The High Hills, running alongside the much loved Sea Story trail. Follow Wilfred and Mr Apple as they journey into the High Hills, and set sail with the mice on their voyage down to the coast in search of Periwinkle.
Families can also visit the dedicated High Hills play area, where children can scramble up the mountain peak, search for hidden gold among the rocks, and dress up as a Brambly Hedge character for the day.
The trail includes hidden stamp points across the Swannery grounds. Each one found rewards children with a stamp for their activity booklet and a fact about the resident nesting swans and their home on the Fleet.
After the trail, head to the Café where there are Brambly Hedge colouring sheets to enjoy, and the Gift Shop will have a selection of books from the collection and other Brambly Hedge gifts.
The Swannery is open daily from Saturday 14th March and closes Sunday 1st November. The trail is included with standard entry and available throughout the whole of the 2026 season.

The High Hills
It is the end of autumn, and Mr Apple sets off into the High Hills to deliver blankets to the voles before the cold weather arrives. Wilfred Toadflax insists on joining him, convinced there is gold to be found among the rocks. All goes well until Wilfred gets stuck on a rock face and a thick fog rolls in, leaving the two mice searching for their way home.Â
Sea Story
It is summer, and Primrose wakes knowing something special is about to happen. Dusty, Poppy, Primrose and Wilfred set off downstream in Dusty’s boat, the Periwinkle, on a journey all the way to the sea. Along the way, the mice have an important mission to complete before they can return home to Brambly Hedge.
